O God, my God!
Lowly and tearful, I raise my suppliant hands to Thee
Lowly and tearful, I raise my suppliant hands to Thee
and cover my face in the dust of that Threshold of Thine,
and cover my face in the dust of that Threshold of Thine,
Lowly and tearful, I raise my suppliant hands to Thee
and cover my face in the dust of that Threshold of Thine

Exalted, exalted, exalted, exalted above the knowledge of the learned,
exalted above, exalted above,
above the praise of all that glorify Thee.

Graciously look upon Thy servant,
humble and lowly at Thy door,
with the glances of the eye of Thy mercy,
and immerse him in the Ocean of Thine eternal grace.

The Festival of Ridvan: Day 1

On this day in 1863, the world’s newest independent faith was born in a beautiful rose filled garden known as the Garden of Ridvan (pronounced: rez-vahn). Every year Baha’is around the world commemorate the 12 days in which Baha’u’llah, the prophet-founder of the Baha’i Faith spent in this garden declaring his mission of peace, unity and love.

In honor of the First Day of Ridvan, this video combines visual effects by Setareh Samandari and Habib Zagarpour with an original score by renowned composer Jack Lenz to imagine what that glorious day would have looked like.

Prayer by Baha’u’llah chanted with music.

“O God, my God! I beg of Thee by the ocean of Thy healing, and by the splendors of the Daystar of Thy grace, and by Thy Name through which Thou didst subdue Thy servants, and by the pervasive power of Thy most exalted Word and the potency of Thy most august Pen, and by Thy mercy that hath preceded the creation of all who are in heaven and on earth, to purge me with the waters of Thy bounty from every affliction and disorder, and from all weakness and feebleness. Thou seest, O my Lord, Thy suppliant waiting at the door of Thy bounty, and him who hath set his hopes on Thee clinging to the cord of Thy generosity. Deny him not, I beseech Thee, the things he seeketh from the ocean of Thy grace and the Daystar of Thy loving-kindness.
Powerful art Thou to do what pleaseth Thee. There is none other God save Thee, the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Generous.” Baha’u’llah

LYRICS
Wherefore, wed thou, in the heaven of Thy mercy these two birds of the nest of Thy love and make them the means of attracting perpetual grace, that from the union of these two seas of love, a wave of tenderness may surge and cast the pearls of pure and goodly issue on the shore of life.
-‘Abdu’l-Bahá
